Urth Intro Empty Urth Intro

Stumbling out of the portal from Elysium, we find ourselves in a forest Southeast of a mountain range that is suspiciously lacking in volcanic activity. We start marching towards the mountains, only to be distracted here and there by a skeleton or two. After a few hours of this monotony, we here the familiar din of battle. Around the bend, we find a lone half-elf battling a hulking monstrosity with a ridiculous sized knife.
Deciding anyone battling the undead would likely respond kindly to reinforcements, we jump into the fray. Gears wind as Grynn loads the clockwork bow and Siege charges in. The Javelin speeds to meet the monster about the same time as Siege's axe. The Warforged has the monster's full-attetion, and the Half-elf is quick to adjust to group tactics. He dodges in and stabs the monster in the eye. Erredil charges into to help, cracking at the back of it's skulls with her staff, only to have it's attack knock her into the rock formation behind her. Soekk lifts himself high into the air with a flap of his black wings, and lets loose a volley of spells with great accuracy. Finally Battleshifter jumps from the low cliff, over the monster's head, and springs off the ground on the other side with a hooking kick. The monster blocks the kick easily with the over-sized weapon, but Battleshifter leaps from the ground and uses the sword as leverage for a second kick, which sends the creatures head flying to Erredil.
Following this victory for the living, Erredil and Soekk are quick to introduce themselves to the stranger. He reveals his name to be Urth, and also a bearer of the Bonds. His instincts told him he would meet people who could assist him in removing the curse if he traveled this way. They weren't wrong (I hope). Grynn was skeptical of his intentions, until his shirt pocket wriggled and a handsome little mouse stuck his nose out. Grynn gravitated towards the small creature, instantly offering food.
We explain we're on our way to Neverwinter, to meet the Magistrate and exchange information about the Bonds. Urth offers to guide us through the enemy lines between here and there, since Neverwinter was his home.
Rotting corpses behind us, a new friendship ahead of us. Urth guides us over the mountains back towards Magistrate Alkath's army.

As we gather round the fire Urth started to build before the battle, I add a few branches and poke at the coals.
So, Urth was it? You say you got a map of Neverwinter. Mind if I take a look tomorrow?
Satisfied with the way the coals are burning, Grynn pulls a pot and some rice from The Bag. She scoops a handful for everyone and pours in holy water from a canteen that seems to hold far more than it should.
While that boils, I'm'a see if anythin around here is still edible. This tainted land was once a forest after all.
Grynn takes a lantern and starts rummaging the surrounding area. Digging at roots here, sniffing bark there.
